What to Wear Under Your Flying Dress
Under a flying dress, wear seamless nude or dress-colored underwear or boy shorts, and skip the regular bra, since most of our bodices are backless. Choose heels or dressy sandals (or go barefoot), use oil-free sunscreen only, and keep jewelry elegant rather than oversized.
What to Wear Underneath
After photographing over 1,000 people, these are the details that make the biggest difference in your photos. Our dresses have high slits and the fabric moves constantly, so what you wear underneath matters.
- 01
Seamless nude or dress-colored underwear or boy shortsThey disappear under the fabric and keep you covered when the dress is in motion.
- 02
Skip the regular braMost of our bodices are backless, so a standard bra will show.

Need support?Adhesive options like Cakes or Brassy Bra, or a deep-cut bra with clear straps, work well. Find our favorites in our Amazon storefront.
Heels, Sandals or Barefoot?
- Heels or dressy sandals photograph beautifully and lengthen the line of the dress.
- Barefoot is welcome, and foot jewelry looks stunning in beach and yacht photos. We have wipes on hand.
- Wearing heels? Bring a pair of slip-ons for walking between locations on the cobblestones.
Elegant details, nothing that competes with the dress
Jewelry Is Encouraged
Earrings, rings, bracelets and delicate necklaces all add a beautiful finishing touch. For morning sessions, we recommend skipping large jeweled necklaces, because they catch the sun and reflect light onto your face.
Oil-free sunscreen only. Oil-based sunscreens, lotions and body oils can permanently damage the gown.
Sunscreen and Body Products
This one is important. Use oil-free sunscreen only, and apply it before you arrive rather than right before your shoot. Oil-based sunscreens, lotions and body oils can permanently damage the gown.
Hair and Makeup
Wear your hair however you feel most like yourself. If you want a camera-ready look that holds up in Cartagena’s heat, add professional makeup when you book. Makeup is done before dress styling.
What You Do Not Need to Bring
- The dress. Your flying dress is included and delivered to your accommodation with our white glove service. Choose your color from our dress collection, in sizes from XS to 4X.
- Posing experience. You do not need to know how to pose. We direct every shot, so just relax and let the dress do the work.
